Application Specialist

Overall Responsibility

As a Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring customer satisfaction and supporting the sales team in a dynamic environment. Your responsibilities encompass providing technical assistance, conducting training sessions, collaborating with sales, and maintaining knowledge of product applications. Here’s an overview of what this role entails:

Job Description

  1. Organize and conduct instrument installation or refresher training.
  2. Provide technical support and feedback to customer’s enquiries.
  3. Execute troubleshooting for stakeholder/customers onsite and online for life sciences products.
  4. Organize and conduct course, seminar, workshop on life sciences products.
  5. Perform product optimization, evaluation and validation study.
  6. Assist sales/marketing team in pre-sales activities such as product demonstration, trade show, user group meetings and etc.
  7. Participate in providing regular feedback and reports on market and competitive situations to Business/ Product Manager.
  8. Conduct training programme to enhance technical competencies of internal staffs.
  9. Prepare weekly activities/ job related reports.
  10. Comply with ISO quality management system requirement.
  11. Perform any related duties and responsibilities as required from the Superior from time to time.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum Bachelor degree (Master’s or PhD degree is a plus) in life sciences (preferably in the areas of Biomedical Science, molecular biology or cell biology).
  2. Possess at least 2 years working experience in laboratory environment, preferably in research institution or university.
  3. Knowledgeable and experience in bioinformatics, molecular biology techniques such as Real-Time PCR and Sequencing, and solid understanding of current research methodologies and protocols will be an advantage. Minimum 2 years’ experience in doing Research or Marketing of Life Sciences products or 1-2 years experience in Biomedical Research Lab.
  4. Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  5. Good presentation skills to deliver technical and product information.
  6. Strong analytical mind and troubleshooting skills.
  7. Responsible, independent, well organized and good team member.
  8. Possess own transport and willing to travel; Allowance is given accordingly.
  9. Position available for Malaysian citizens only.
